Icicles on a winter morning

I have a fascination with icicles.  These icicles hanging on the curved archway caught my fancy.  It was just before Thanksgiving.  The archway frames the winter scene beyond it.  I snapped this photo before knocking the beautiful icicles down. They are beautiful, but they are icy dangerous for people walking under them. They could drip cold water down your neck, or worse yet, they could crash down on your head.  Some icicles grow to a great size.  These icicles were more beautiful than dangerous since they weren’t really huge.  It was easy to knock them down.

About NJ

I love to write! I realized in 9th grade that I really enjoyed writing. Every two weeks we had assigned topics that we were to use to write an essay. I liked writing the essays. I'm a mom and a grandma. None of my family live nearby, but they visit when they are able to come. I've been a pastor's wife and a grade school teacher. Now I'm retired and enjoying visiting others, and indulging myself in my hobbies, --writing and art activities. I'm very thankful for the blessings in life.

I too love icicles, enough to have boxes of glass ones that I hope someday to re-hang on a crystal and ice-themed Christmas tree, AC (after cats).

Blogeois, nice to see you here. I think it would be neat to have a Christmas tree trimmed with glass icicles. You do have to consider the cats, though! It’s their home, too, and trees really appeal to them. Merry Christmas.
