My daughter-in-law made this creche.

Most of this manger scene is made of beanbag figures.  I like to bring a few other animals to the manger.  This year I have the larger, wooden elephant, and “chicken” dish, and a giraffe carved from bone (from Africa I think), along with the carefully crafted figures of Mary, Joseph, a shepherd, a couple of kings, and Baby Jesus.  The beanbag creche was new the year that we brought Rusty (adopted from the local pound after he’d been a prisoner there for 38 days) home to live with us.  He was about two years old and was a Shepherd/Golden mixed breed.  He loved his new home and was such a well behaved dog, but when he saw the beanbag figures  on the coffee table, he thought they were puppy toys.  He chewed the Baby Jesus before I realized what he was doing.  Karen made me a new Baby Jesus figure for the creche to replace the one that Rusty ruined.   I cherish these figures.

About NJ

I love to write! I realized in 9th grade that I really enjoyed writing. Every two weeks we had assigned topics that we were to use to write an essay. I liked writing the essays. I'm a mom and a grandma. None of my family live nearby, but they visit when they are able to come. I've been a pastor's wife and a grade school teacher. Now I'm retired and enjoying visiting others, and indulging myself in my hobbies, --writing and art activities. I'm very thankful for the blessings in life.
