Snow Belt

Snow Belt

I live in a snow belt.

We’ve had a lot of snow in the last week.  Though I have a wide driveway, the young man I hire to plow the snow runs out of places to pile it.  Here it is piled up almost to the edge of the garage door.  We had more snow today, though it wasn’t a lot.

I don’t take walks in the snow now, as I used to do.  It’s not so cold right now, but sidewalks are covered with snow and there are slippery places.  I don’t like to walk out in the road and I don’t want to fall, so I haven’t been out walking.

Walking in the snow can be time well spent.  I have developed understandings and solved some pesky problem while walking alone while snow is falling.

Now I do some of my heavy thinking while working alone on a jigsaw puzzle.  It can cozy and peaceful doing that.  I have a jigsaw puzzle going most of the time.  One of my Christmas presents this year was a puzzle caddy. That makes it easy to pack up the puzzle and get it off the table so the table can become a place to eat.  It was a great gift!  And, I can take a break and look out the window at the expanse of snow out there.

About NJ

I love to write! I realized in 9th grade that I really enjoyed writing. Every two weeks we had assigned topics that we were to use to write an essay. I liked writing the essays. I'm a mom and a grandma. None of my family live nearby, but they visit when they are able to come. I've been a pastor's wife and a grade school teacher. Now I'm retired and enjoying visiting others, and indulging myself in my hobbies, --writing and art activities. I'm very thankful for the blessings in life.

The snow is so pretty, Nancy, but I’m sure it gets tiresome. And, I’m glad you no longer try to walk out there; would sure hate for you to fall.

I’ve never been much on puzzles except for the little ones learning. But, I do love to read and I probably do more than I should. 🙂

    xoxo
