Rainy Days

Today is Thursday and it’s been rainy most of this week.   But that’s what we expect from April, –rainy days.  Rainy days mean it’s much warmer than it was in January and February.  The ground is a soggy, muddy mess, but it’s not snow, and for April, that’s good.  We have water aplenty, and that’s good, too.  I think about the news I’ve been hearing from California where they haven’t had rain and it’s become a drastic problem.  I pray for their need.

I wonder why weather conditions can’t be more equal across our nation.  Why is California suffering pending drought and we have water for all our needs, right now?  I wonder about our summer this year.  Will we continue to have a good rainfall throughout our growing season, or will mid-summer bring us hot, dry conditions that will be hard on our crops and flowers?

Our rain today is gentle and slow.  It is actually a pleasant day.  It is a good day to think about things, and take time to write a bit about rainy day thoughts.

It’s also a day to catch up on things I should be doing.  It’s time for me to be seriously getting ready to show some of my pictures in the Artists’ Guild Art Show in a couple of weeks.  It’s good to be content and reflect on memories and savor the day, but it’s time now to stop thinking about things and start doing things.  I’m glad that I have things to do that give me purpose for this day.

About NJ

I love to write! I realized in 9th grade that I really enjoyed writing. Every two weeks we had assigned topics that we were to use to write an essay. I liked writing the essays. I'm a mom and a grandma. None of my family live nearby, but they visit when they are able to come. I've been a pastor's wife and a grade school teacher. Now I'm retired and enjoying visiting others, and indulging myself in my hobbies, --writing and art activities. I'm very thankful for the blessings in life.
